The Chicken or the Egg's Famous Santos Sauce
So, you might say, "What's a Santos?" Well, it's not a "what," it's a "who." Jose Santos Islas was a cook at The Chicken or the Egg for 10 years or so. He could fry an egg like nobody's business, and as it turned out, he could make some mean sauce! Santos first cooked up a batch of his now famous sauce for our staff, and we knew it had to go on the menu. It's a unique blend of hickory bbq, garlic, and secret spices that join forces to make Santos a personal favorite. And here's a little secret. It's even better on ribs than wings! So, why doesn't Santos still work at The Chicken or the Egg? Well, he opened up his own place of course. It's called "Tio Santos," and it's in Bridgeton, NJ. Stop by and say hi.
